Two new companions joined the TARDIS tonight – albeit for the charity fundraiser, Children in Need!
9-year-old Doctor Who fan Anna was supported by Sebastian’s Action Trust as they were welcomed to Roath Lock Studio, and, as the special footage was filmed in August (before Series 11 began), got an exclusive first look at the new TARDIS interior. The pair were given a tour of the Time-Space Ship by the Thirteenth Doctor herself, Jodie Whittaker!
Anna and Alex also met new companions, Mandip Gill (who plays Yasmin Khan), Tosin Cole (Ryan Sinclair), and Bradley Walsh (Graham O’Brien).
They were also given a demonstration of the make-up used to create the Zygons for The Zygon Invasion/ The Zygon Inversion (2015), and saw a completed costume. Further props on show include the true Mire head (from The Girl Who Died), an Odd head, various parts of a Cyberman like a Mondasian chest unit, prosthetics for a pig slave from 2007’s Daleks in Manhattan/ Evolution of the Daleks, and an emoji-bot head from last year’s Smile.
