Here’s David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor and Julian Bleach as Davros For Children in Need Scene

Tonight’s charity telethon, Children in Need, featured the first full scene with David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor — with a Dalek! In fact, the first Dalek…

In a special clip written by showrunner, Russell T Davies, the Doctor crashes in on the genesis of the Daleks (not to be confused with Genesis of the Daleks), just missing Davros, played here once more by Julian Bleach.

Feast your eyes.

There’s a nice symmetry here too: the Tenth Doctor’s first full scene, post-regeneration, was a Children in Need minisode back in 2005; now, with Tennant back, it’s great to see that Doctor Who is continuing its link with the fundraiser.

Oh, and the TV event is co-presented by Lenny Rush, who stars in the upcoming series of Who with Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor!

Don’t forget that there’s also a 15-minute behind-the-scenes minisode of Doctor Who Unleashed, the new Confidential-like spin-off.

We’ll next see the Fourteenth Doctor in The Star Beast on 25th November, but before that, on 23rd November, i.e. the show’s 60th anniversary, fans can enjoy The Daleks: In Colour, a truncated version of the second ever Doctor Who serial from 1963-64!
