Doctor Who @60: A Musical Celebration will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Sunday 15th October 2023, plus will be available on BBC Sounds — and this recording will include the debut of the new Doctor Who theme tune, an arrangement by Murray Gold based on Ron Grainer and Delia Derbyshire’s original theme!

Those who were lucky enough to attend the Doctor Who @60: A Musical Celebration concert on Thursday 28th September at the Hoddinott Hall (Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff) got to experience not only the latest theme tune arrangement but also the Fifteenth Doctor’s tune, and Ruby Sunday’s. Murray Gold further confirmed that new companion, Ruby, played by Millie Gibson, will play her own tune on the piano during an episode of Doctor Who Series 14.

Ncuti Gatwa’s theme is simply called “Fifteenth”, while Ruby’s is “The Life of Sunday.”

The concert was recorded for broadcast on Radio 2, and will also be on BBC iPlayer at a later date.

All three 21st Century Doctor Who showrunners — Russell T Davies, Steven Moffat, and Chris Chibnall — were also at Doctor Who @60: A Musical Celebration.

Further scores played include “This Is Gallifrey”, “The Impossible Girl”, “I Am A Good Man”, and, of course, “I Am The Doctor”.

The concert will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Sunday 15th October 2023 from 8pm to 10pm.
