Lenny Rush is joining Doctor Who Series 14 as new character, Morris.

Rush shot to stardom in Daisy May Coopers Am I Being Unreasonable, a part that won him the BAFTA for Best Male Performance in a Comedy Programme earlier this year — at the age of just 14!

Lenny has also starred in Dodger, the CBBC series inspired by the Charles Dickens novel, Oliver Twist, and which co-starred Ninth Doctor actor, Christopher Eccleston. He also appeared as Tiny Tim in Jack Thorne’s A Christmas Carol, at The Old Vic Theatre, London, then again in the 2019 mini-series of the same Dickens novella.

Lenny said:

“It’s an absolute honour to be part of Doctor Who, one of the most iconic shows on television, and wow, what a dream come true!”

Meanwhile, showrunner, Russell T Davies teased:

“This is what Doctor Who’s all about, brand new talent from the next generation, and no one’s more talented than Lenny! He joins the TARDIS team just in time for the Doctor’s greatest nightmare, so hold on tight!”

So… does this mean Morris is going to be a companion alongside Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday? We’re not sure.

Even the BBC said:

“Now Lenny is about to join the team travelling time and space as he takes on his new role as Morris.”

If so, it’s likely he won’t be joining until the Series 14 finale, with Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor and Bonnie Langford returning as Mel Bush; that, we presume, is why Rush’s casting has been revealed now — because they’re filming the last two episodes of the season now, so we’d otherwise see Rush on location and the surprise would be ruined.
