Six new cast members have been revealed to be in the next series of Doctor Who, the first with Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor.
Bhav Joshi, Eilidh Loan, Pete MacHale, Miles Yekinni, and Hemi Yeroham were all announced in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, while showrunner, Russell T Davies, has spilled the beans about Jinkx Monsoon’s inclusion. The winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5 and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 7 will reportedly have a “major role” in the show.
Monsoon said:
“I’m honoured, thrilled, and utterly excited to join Doctor Who! Russell T Davies is a visionary and a brilliant writer — I can’t wait to get into the weeds with him and the crew! I hope there’s room in the TARDIS for my luggage.”
We’re not quite sure whether this means Jinkx will actually be part of the TARDIS team, alongside new companion, Millie Gibson, who plays Ruby Sunday.
It’s expected that Joshi, Loan, MacHale, Yekinni, and Yeroham will all be part of either the Christmas special, in which Gatwa is due to make his first full appearance (though he’ll also be seen in some capacity in the Doctor Who 60th anniversary celebrations, in at least one episode with David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor), or early on in Series 14.
Yeroham has been seen on location with another guest star, Anita Dobson, so will likely be in the festive special; while Loan will probably be in episodes four and/or five, directed by Dylan Holmes Williams.
