David Bradley and Spencer Wilding Headline the Stars of Time Convention This Sunday!

Three sci-fi giants, David Bradley, Brian Muir, and Spencer Wilding, will be at the Stars of Time convention in Weston-super-Mare this weekend.

Doctor Who fans will obviously know Bradley for playing the First Doctor in Twice Upon A Time (a part he’s returned to for Big Finish) and Solomon the trader in Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, alongside playing William Hartnell in An Adventure in Space and Time. However, he’s also been in numerous other huge franchise instalments, including the Harry Potter series (as the caretaker, Filch), Game of Thrones, Broadchurch, and Captain America: The First Avenger.

Wilding, meanwhile, played the Minotaur in The God Complex, the Wooden King in The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe, the Ice Warrior Skaldak in Cold War, and the lead Dreg in Orphan 55. However, sci-fi fans will probably know him best for playing Darth Vader in Rogue One! His extensive credits also include Guardians of the Galaxy, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and Men in Black: International.

And Brian Muir has worked on a huge number of iconic movies, although you might not immediately recognise his name — unless you’re a big Star Wars fan. He actually sculpted Darth Vader’s helmet, mask, and chest/shoulder armour, and also worked on the Storm Trooper armour, Death Star Droid, CZ 3, and finished the look of C3PO. Otherwise, you can see his work in an array of movies like Thor: The Dark World, Alien, The Eagles Has Landed, The Dark Crystal, and numerous James Bond films including Spyfall, Octopussy, and GoldenEye.

The three guests will be at the Tropicana on the sea front at Weston-super-Mare this Sunday (13th March 2022), from 10am to 5pm.

This regular seaside convention normally takes place in the August Bank Holiday, but has been displaced this year by the SEEMONSTER installation; fortunately, two further conventions have been spawned: one in Swindon in June and another again at the Tropicana, Weston, in November.
