An array of Doctor Who alumni are joining the next series of hit anthology show, Inside No. 9 – including Jenna Coleman, who played variations of Clara Oswald between 2012 and 2017 opposite (primarily) the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors.
Jenna will play an as-yet-unnamed part in the programme’s fifth series, with other guest stars including Tom Goodman-Hill (The Unicorn and the Wasp), David Morrissey (The Next Doctor), Ralph Little (Smile), and Phil Davis (The Fires of Pompeii).
If you’ve not watched Inside No. 9, each episode shows you events somehow related to the number 9, most frequently a house number. Typically, one story features a large cast, followed by another with a smaller cast. It’s created, written by, and stars Steve Pemberton (Silence in the Library/ Forest of the Dead) and Reece Shearsmith (Sleep No More). They said:
“We’re delighted to announce a guest cast brimming with both emerging and established talent, all judiciously chosen to make us look a bit classier by association.”
Former Who stars who have appeared in the series include Keeley Hawes (Time Heist), Anne Reid (Smith and Jones), Jessica Raine (Hide), Jason Watkins (Nightmare in Silver), David Warner (Cold War), Mark Benton (Rose), and Noel Clarke (Mickey Smith).
If you haven’t seen the show at all, we highly recommend checking out an episode or 25 as they’re currently available on iPlayer.
Inside No. 9 Series 5 is due to air later this year on BBC2.
