Who Is Directing Jodie Whittaker’s Last Episode of Doctor Who?

Though unconfirmed by the BBC, it appears that Jamie Magnus Stone will direct the Doctor Who BBC Centenary special, which will be the last episode of the show with Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor.

He’s been seen on location shooting for the special episode, alongside Whittaker and various companions.

Stone’s first Doctor Who work was the Clara and the TARDIS and The Last Day shorts, then both parts of Spyfall, and he returned for Praxeus, and the Series 12 finale, Ascension of the Cybermen/ The Timeless Children. He’s also worked on the as-yet-unaired Series 13, specifically episodes 1, 2, and 4 of the 6-episode run.

It’s also likely that Stone has directed the New Year’s special, the first of three specials to screen in 2022. The middle one will reportedly be directed by Haolu Wang.

We won’t spoil who else has been seen filming on Jodie’s final story here, but fans of the Thirteenth Doctor era should be very happy.

This will also be Chris Chibnall’s last Doctor Who as showrunner, and, in a surprising turn of events, Russell T Davies will return for the 60th anniversary special and beyond…
