What Did You Think of Doctor Who: The Church on Ruby Road?

Merry Christmas, Doctor Who fans! This year, we had an extra special gift — a new episode of Doctor Who on Christmas Day, the first since 2017, subsequent festive specials being bumped over to New Year’s Day instead.

And of course, we’ve now properly got to know the Fifteenth Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa, who debuted in The Giggle, but spent the time in his pants; this Christmas, the Doctor got a new wardrobe, so that’s a turn-up for the books. We’ve also met new companion, Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), whose name is so similar to Ruby Tuesday, you will find the DWC accidentally calling her that one of these days. The number of edits to my own work that I’ve already made…

So in The Church on Ruby Road, we began to explore the mystery of Ruby Sunday as she and the Doctor took on child-eating Goblins!

But what did you think of the episode? We’d love for you to vote in our poll.

And if you’ve voted, please chat about the special in the comments section below. Was this a strong opening episode for the new pairing? Is it good to have a new special on Christmas Day?
